I teamed up with three friends from the games industry on a two-week Space Cowboy game jam. We wanted to play around with Unity, have fun, and see what we could accomplish in our spare time.
We set out to make a split-screen multiplayer game where the players would need to argue over resources (and personal space, as players can all crowd around one keyboard) in order to power the ship’s weapons and engine.
The result is Star Horse, a game for 2 to 3 players that is a bit like Space Team with Starfox-style flying and a couple big old guns.
Everyone did everything, since there were only four of us. It was chaotic, exhausting, and glorious.
Most importantly, it was fun.
