Weblogs@UBC central resources
Client: UBC Office of Learning Technology
Role: Web Application Developer (social software, emerging technologies)
Dates: May 2004 – Aug. 2004
We needed a centralized resource for our quickly-growing user base so that users would not have to hunt all over the place for UBC-specific help. The resource also needed to persist and grow as more students and staff joined or left the project. The result: weblogs@ubc.
I designed the website, structuring the site markup and using valid CSS to make the site as accessible, maintainable, and flexible as possible for future support staff and students. I then integrated it with Movable Type, and rewrote the content, drawing on existing materials on the UBCWiki and work we had documented.
The resource continues to be used by staff today, though they may be switching away from MT to Wordpress. Ooo.
